Gender Graduates Osteopathic Medical Colleges Race/Ethnicity Research Reports Trends

The total for 2019-20 graduates is 6,938 which is an increase of 235 graduates or 3.5 percent since 2018-19 graduates. 

Male graduates increased by 103 graduates or 2.8 percent while female graduates increased by 146 graduates or 4.9 percent since 2018-19 graduates.  There was a decrease of 14 graduates for the undisclosed category when compared to 2018-19 graduates.

The underrepresented minority (URM) percentage for 2019-20 graduates is 8.0 percent when compared to 8.7 percent for 2018-19 graduates. This overall percentage decrease is attributed to a slight decline in the following URM categories:

  • American Indian/Alaska Native, non-Hispanic decreased by four graduates or 23.5 percent.
  • Black/African American, non-Hispanic decreased by four graduates or 2.0 percent.
  • Pacific Islander, non-Hispanic decreased by four graduates or 50 percent.
