Enrollment Gender Osteopathic Medical Colleges Race/Ethnicity Students Trends

Total enrollment for academic year 2020-21 is 33,614. This is an increase of 1,951 enrollees when compared to total enrollment for academic year 2019-20. 

Male enrollment increased by 440 enrollees or 2.7 percent while female enrollment increased by 1,510 enrollees or 10.0 percent since academic year 2019-20. There was only an increase of one enrollee for the undisclosed category when compared to academic year 2019-20.

The underrepresented minority (URM) percentage for academic year 2020-21 is 10.4 percent when compared to 9.6 percent for academic year 2019-20.  This overall percentage increase is attributed to enrollment growth in the following URM categories: 

  • Hispanic/Latino increased by 304 enrollees or 16.1 percent.
  • American Indian/Alaska Native, non-Hispanic increased by 16 enrollees or 20.5 percent.
  • Black/African American, non-Hispanic increased by 127 enrollees or 12.3 percent.
  • Pacific Islander, non-Hispanic increased by five enrollees or 12.8 percent.
