This one-hour interactive session will review why and how point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is a vital addition to a medical education curriculum and explore different approaches to curriculum integration, educational support and funding for equipment and training.
Learning Objectives:
- Review the educational and clinical rationale for incorporating POCUS in a full longitudinal curriculum
- Discuss historical and current barriers and solutions to successfully integrating POCUS into medical education
- Explore new technologies that support global student POCUS training at multiple sites, achievement of milestones, and effective oversight/quality assurance
