Course Training

AACOM is sponsoring a series of regional preceptor training workshops in partnership with the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. This 20-hour course consists of four hours of online work along with 16 hours of hands-on instruction and assessment activities. This is a basic, foundational course in theory, terminology, and palpatory skills needed to understand and perform osteopathic manipulation in a clinical setting.

The next workshop will be hosted by Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. 

This pathway is most appropriate for those with little or no current skill in osteopathic manipulation and is open to MDs, DOs, PTs, PAs, or students in those programs.

Learning Outcomes and Objectives:

  1. Define the history, philosophy, terminology, and treatment modules of osteopathic medicine.
  2. Perform foundational clinical skills of osteopathic manipulative treatment.
  3. Implement appropriate documentation, billing, coding and supervision of OMT.
