WVSOM Contributes Toolkit to NIH Program for Community-Engaged Research: Two representatives of the NIH’s Community Engagement Alliance Consultative Resource visited the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) campus to give a presentation to school employees, Greenbrier County community leaders and local health professionals on a toolkit showcasing the successes of WVSOM’s Center for Rural and Community Health. The toolkit is available through the NIH to organizations nationwide to be used as a model for gaining community buy-in on community-engaged research. Learn more. |
Last Chance to Apply for HRSA’s Faculty Loan Repayment Program: If you are an eligible faculty member at a health professions school, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Faculty Loan Repayment Program could provide you up to $40,000 to repay educational loans. In exchange, you commit to two years of full- or part-time service as a faculty member at an eligible school. The application closes Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 7:30 PM ET. Last Chance to Apply for HRSA’s STAR Loan Repayment Program: If you are a licensed behavioral healthcare professional trained in substance use disorders, you can apply to the Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR LRP) and receive up to $250,000 in loan repayment. In exchange, you must work full-time for six years in a STAR LRP-approved facility. Applications close on June 27, 2024, at 7:30 PM ET.
