This month marks another successful NRMP residency match for DO applicants. U.S. DO seniors achieved a match rate of 92.3 percent, which is an all-time high match rate for this group. This year’s match rate for U.S. DO seniors also reflects an increase of 0.7 percent from last year and an increase of 4.2 percent from the 2019 residency match. Additionally, this year’s match results reflect the osteopathic profession’s long tradition of commitment to primary care, as the top two specialties that U.S. DO senior applicants matched into were internal medicine (24.1 percent) and family medicine (20.1 percent).
