Osteopathic Health Policy Fellowship
Congratulations to Thuy-Tien Le, DO, on her appointment as a project officer with the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Bureau of Health Workforce, supporting the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education (THCGME) Program. THCGME provides support to train primary care residents in community-based ambulatory patient care centers, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations. Dr. Le, a 2023 alumna of the Fellowship, was well prepared to take on this challenge. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and completed her family medicine residency at Asension St. John Detroit Riverview Center in Michigan, where she also served as chief resident in her last two years.
After graduation, Dr. Le returned to her home state of Washington to fulfill her Health Professions Scholarship Program requirement to work in a medically underserved area, which consisted of a mostly non-English-speaking population. Her practice and other community experiences made her a well-sought-after candidate. We also look forward to introducing Dr. Le to future classes of Fellows during our annual session in Washington, DC, where we meet with government administrative staff to learn about their role in the health of our population.
