FORHP Releases Rural Residency Planning and Development Forecast: The Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) forecasted that they will invest approximately $11.25 million in fiscal year 2024 through the Rural Residency Planning and Development (RRPD) program to establish new rural residency programs or rural track programs. In July, the FORHP awarded nearly $11 million in grants to 15 organizations across 13 states and one U.S territory. The RRPD provides grants to multiple organizations, including higher education institutions and non-profits, and provides assistance through the RRPD Technical Assistance Center to strengthen the rural health workforce. |
Reminder – HRSA Payment Program for Eligible Buprenorphine-Trained Providers Remains Open: While the Waiver is no longer needed to prescribe medications for opioid use disorder, eligible Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) may apply for funding through the HRSA Data 2000 Waiver Training Program to defray prior training costs. Payment to eligible RHCs will be done on a first-come, first-served basis until the fund is exhausted. |
