(Bethesda, MD) – Today, the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) celebrates our member schools for their inclusion in the U.S. News & World Report rankings for best medical schools in primary care and research.
“Primary care is a cornerstone of osteopathic medicine and osteopathic medical education,” says AACOM President and CEO Robert A. Cain, DO. “While osteopathic medical students go on to practice across medical specialties, they are trained to diagnose and treat from a primary care perspective—assessing the whole patient. We are proud of our schools for achieving this recognition, and for ranking highly in research. As an association, we have prioritized expanding osteopathic representation and research at the National Institutes of Health and look forward to celebrating continued growth in this area.”
