AOGME Residents and Fellows Council Leader Appointed to ACGME Review Committee for Emergency Medicine

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Board of Directors recently confirmed the appointment of Breanne Jaqua, DO, MPH, to serve on the ACGME Review Committee for Emergency Medicine. As the resident member on this review committee, Dr. Jaqua will also serve on the ACGME Council of Review Committee Residents (CRCR). The CRCR, comprised of current resident representatives of the ACGME Board, review committees, Osteopathic Principles Committee, and a public member, advises the ACGME Board on a range of current issues in graduate medical education (GME).
Dr. Jaqua is a PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Resident Physician at Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, OH, and she completed her undergraduate medical education at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA). She is a member and part of the leadership of the AOGME Resident and Fellows Council (RFC). In 2018, she served as a member of the AOGME Residents and Fellows Advisory Group to plan and launch the RFC. Dr. Jaqua also currently serves on AACOM's UME-GME Continuum Initiative Task Force as a member of the Residency Match Working Group.
Dr. Jaqua has an exceptional record of leadership including her service as Class President and Student Government Association President at ATSU-SOMA. She assumed the role of the National Chair of the AACOM Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents (COSGP) in 2015-16.
