Katherine Kirby, DO, is an exemplary proponent of osteopathic medicine. She served as a member and recruitment chair of the AOGME Residents and Fellows Council (RFC). In addition to her role on the RFC, Dr. Kirby assumed several leadership roles. During residency, she served as the chairman of three subcommittee boards at the ACGME Board of Directors for two consecutive years. As an attending physician, she continues to be a part of osteopathic organizations, such as the American Osteopathic Association. She is also a member of Trinity Health Hospital’s Leadership Rising Cohort and OB Quality Committee. As she transitions to her role as a training faculty, Dr. Kirby teaches osteopathic medicine principles and practices as she gets ready to precept OBGYN residents.
Dr. Kirby is a prominent OBGYN physician and advocates for women's health. She is currently practicing in Trinity Health Hospital. Her special interests are women's reproductive tract, pregnancy and childbirth. She practices in a variety of private and academic settings. She serves rural and underserved areas, as she hopes to help mitigate health disparities in her community. Dr. Kirby is dedicated to identifying the unique needs of the local community and using her knowledge and skills to execute personalized care. In addition, she champions for equal access to healthcare.
