- In its recent FY2025 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) final rule, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) chose not to finalize standards for defining new residency program for Medicare payment purposes due to a lack of comment consensus.
- Instead, CMS issued a request for information (RFI) with comments due by October 15, 2024, to GME_Program_Newness@cms.hhs.gov.
- AACOM will be submitting comments, and we encourage interested stakeholders to do so as well. Please share with us at aacomgr@aacom.org any recommendations or submissions from your COM. More information can be found on this page under “Program Newness Request for Information."
