CHSU Accreditation Celebration Commemorates All Programs Being Accredited: The California Health Sciences University (CHSU) held a celebration this week to commemorate achieving full accreditation for all its programs. The Accreditation Celebration brought together more than 300 people on the medical school campus in Clovis, including CHSU medical and pre-medical students, alumni, administration, faculty, staff, trustees, founders, elected officials and community partners. Representatives from the offices of Reps. Vince Fong (R-CA), Jim Costa (D-CA) and California State Senator Shannon Grove also attended the event and presented CHSU with certificates of special recognition for achieving full accreditation for all its programs. Learn more.

NCCIH Coalition for Whole Person Health: Eligible osteopathic organizations are invited to join the NIH National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH)’s Coalition for Whole Person Health, a new endeavor that will help to engage patients, healthcare professionals and researchers. The coalition will provide a platform to discuss challenges and opportunities in the research field related to delivering whole person care to individuals. NCCIH will interact with the Coalition through events such as scientific meetings, retreats, roundtable discussions, webinars and listening sessions, including an inaugural meeting on the NIH Campus in Bethesda, MD, on Friday, November 1, 2024. Learn more.

 

Funding Opportunity – Targeted Technical Assistance for Rural Hospitals Program: The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is awarding up to $800,000 for the Targeted Technical Assistance for Rural Hospitals Program to improve healthcare in rural areas by providing targeted, in-depth technical assistance to rural hospitals within communities struggling to maintain healthcare services. Apply by September 30, 2024.

 

NIH Re-Envisioning U.S. Postdoctoral Research Training and Career Progression Within the Biomedical Research Enterprise: NIH is issuing a follow-up RFI to gather public input on the implementation of specific recommendations developed by the Advisory Committee to the Director Postdoctoral Working Group. Submit comments by 11:59 PM ET on October 23, 2024.

 

NIH Seeking Applications for HEAL KIDS Research Initiative: NIH HEAL KIDS is seeking applications to conduct interdisciplinary team-based research projects that combine clinical research, novel/cutting-edge technologies and measurement science to help improve our understanding of primary and secondary chronic pain conditions in children and adolescents. Apply by November 8, 2024.
