Register Now for AACOM & HRSA Joint Webinar: Osteopathic medical students are encouraged to register for the AACOM and Health Resources and Services Administration joint webinar covering the 2024 National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Students to Service (S2S) Loan Repayment Program (LRP) on October 25, 2023, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM ET. Medical students in their final year of school can receive awards up to $120,000 in exchange for a three-year commitment providing primary care services at NHSC-approved sites in high-need rural and other health professional shortage areas. This year, the NHSC added an additional $40,000 supplement for medical students who commit to providing OB/GYN services in a maternity care target area. Submit Comments on Modernizing the NIH: On September 29, 2023, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) posted a request for information (RFI) on National Institutes of Health (NIH) reform seeking information on how the NIH could improve its process for approving federal research grants, better support the biomedical research workforce, bolster collaboration across academia and industry and increase transparency into agency activities.
