HRSA Accepting Applications for the Faculty Loan Repayment Program: If you are a faculty member at a health professions school, the Faculty Loan Repayment Program (FLRP) could provide you up to $40,000 in loan repayment assistance. In exchange, you commit to two years of full or part-time service as a faculty member at an eligible school. The application closes Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 7:30 PM ET. UNE COM Advocates: On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine students Austin Vaughan (OMS II), Bethany Miles (OMS II), and Dean Jane Carreiro, DO, provided in-person testimony in support of Maine LD 1797, “An Act to Expand Maine’s Health Care Workforce by Expanding Educational Opportunities and Providing Tax Credits.” The bill addresses the growing healthcare professional shortage in the state by expanding the Maine Health Care Provider Loan Pilot Repayment Program and establishes new programs to support clinical training opportunities in rural areas of the state.
