AACOM congratulates Gunnar Brolinson, DO, on his appointment to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH). Dr. Brolinson has a distinguished career in osteopathic medicine, earning his DO degree in 1983, followed by board certification in family medicine and a subspecialty certification in sports medicine. Since 2014, Dr. Brolinson has been the vice provost for the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Brolinson joins the NCCIH at a critical moment as only the second DO on any NIH board. The NCCIH is one of 27 offices that make up the NIH, whose main responsibility is to determine, through rigorous scientific investigation, the fundamental science, usefulness and safety of complementary and integrative health approaches and their roles in improving health and healthcare.
