- House Appropriations Chair Kay Granger (R-TX) recently announced that markups of the 12 FY24 appropriations bills will begin May 17, 2023.
- Subcommittee markups are planned for May 17-18 and June 7-8, while the full Committee will hold markups May 23-25 and June 13-15. Rep. Granger issued a letter that did not indicate which bills would be marked up on any given day.
- House Republicans have not passed a deeming resolution to set a topline FY24 funding level and the appropriations subcommittee chairs have not been informed of the FY24 funding allocations for their subcommittee. However, reductions to non-defense programs could reach 22 percent if House Republicans cap discretionary spending at FY22 levels.
