- On May 24, 2024, Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden (D-OR), and seven bipartisan members of the committee published a policy outline describing improvements to the Medicare GME program.
- The proposal seeks to address physician workforce shortages across the country, strengthen infrastructure for rural hospitals and improve GME transparency, among a host of other issues.
- Senators John Cornyn (R-TX), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Michael Bennet (D-CO), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) are members of the bipartisan working group.
