Graduate Medical Education Graduates Residency Match Trends

AACOM collected data reported by the individual COMs to determine the participation by and placement of 2024 graduates in GME. This report is based on data provided by the osteopathic medical schools on participation in and outcomes of all match pathways. Data are reported as of the end of the Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program in March 2024. Summary Data reported by the COMs show that 99.05% of 2024 graduates seeking GME successfully placed in graduate medical education during this process. The nation’s Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine graduated 8,347 new physicians who began their residency training in July 2024. This represents new physicians beginning their graduate medical education in July 2024.
