This report summarizes the mean Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) scores for applicants and matriculants to U.S. Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, or COMs, from 2016-2023. 

Key findings from this report include: 

  • The overall mean MCAT score is lower for 2023 applicants and matriculants compared to 2022 applicants and matriculants, a decrease of .35 and .68 respectively.
  • The overall mean MCAT score is higher for 2023 applicants and matriculants compared to 2016 applicants and matriculants, an increase of 2.24 and 1.83 respectively.
  • In 2023, applicants and matriculants highest mean MCAT section scores are in Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior (126.71 and 126.94) and the lowest mean MCAT section scores are in Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (125.02 and 125.17).
