 This report summarizes the mean GPAs for applicants and matriculants to U.S. Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, or COMs, from 2016-2024. Key findings from this report include:

  • The overall mean undergraduate GPA is higher for 2024 applicants and lower for 2024 matriculants compared to 2024, an increase of .02 and a decrease of .01, respectively.
  • The overall mean undergraduate GPA is higher for 2024 applicants and matriculants compared to 2016, an increase of .11 and .05, respectively.
  • In order of highest to lowest, 2024 applicants and matriculants mean undergraduate GPAs were non-science (3.68 and 3.71), total (3.56 and 3.59) and science (3.44 and 3.49). 
  • Of all GPA types in 2024, graduate non-science GPA was the highest for applicants (3.79) and post-baccalaureate non-science GPA was the highest for matriculants (3.83).
