This report summarizes cost of attendance at colleges of osteopathic medicine and their campuses for survey years 2012–2025, including tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, and personal expenses.
Some key findings include:
Total reported costs vary widely across colleges and campuses. Among locations with inaugural classes in 2022 or earlier, costs across four OMS class years ranged from $225,763 to $490,028 in 2025, with a median of $389,912.
Tuition and fees account for the largest share of attendance costs. Across the 66 locations reporting in 2025, tuition and fees represented approximately 63% of total reported costs.
Room and board represent a substantial additional expense. Housing and meals accounted for approximately 25% of total reported costs in 2025, making them the second-largest expense category.
Reported totals combine costs across available OMS class years rather than representing a single year’s expenses. Newer colleges and campuses may report fewer than four years of costs.
