Shannon Jiminez, DOThe Osteopathic Health Policy Fellowship (OHPF) would like to congratulate Shannon Jimenez, DO, on her appointment as dean at Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM). An alumna of the OHPF Class of 2008, she has been a dedicated advocate of the osteopathic profession serving as president of two state organizations, a member of the review panel for the North Carolina Medical Board as well as the North Carolina Medicaid Advisory Board.

Dr. Jimenez’s service also encompasses several national American College of Osteopathic Family Physician committees including federal legislation, public health and wellness and the business of medicine committees. She is currently seated on the Board of Education for the American Osteopathic Association. She was inaugural faculty and a regional assistant dean at the Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine.

In addition to OHPF, she is a Costin Scholar and is finishing her Master's in Health Professions Education through Campbell University. Before relocating to Arkansas, she was the inaugural chair of primary care and clinical medicine at Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and additionally served as interim dean. 

Dr. Jimenez came to ARCOM as senior associate dean in January 2023 and was subsequently appointed dean in June. She has a passion for serving the underserved and a personal mission to get physicians into rural areas where they are needed most
