The AACOM/AOGME Virtual Residency Fair will connect osteopathic medical students with residency programs, providing helpful information, resources and advice on the residency application  process.

Bethesda, Maryland – The American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM)’s Assembly of Osteopathic Graduate Medical Educators (AOGME) is holding a Virtual Residency Fair on August 5, 2022. This event will connect osteopathic medical students who are preparing to enter the Match with residency programs and current residents. It will also help showcase residency programs as they connect with the best and brightest medical student candidates. Interested students and programs can register for the event on the Virtual Residency Fair website.

In the 2022 residency match, the osteopathic medical student match rate rose to a record-setting 91.3 percent. At last year’s Virtual Residency Fairs, students got the opportunity, as they will again on August 5, to explore and research various residency programs. In addition, they could ask program representatives  about their questions and concerns. In the past two years, more than 5,000 students and 180 programs have participated in these events.

AACOM President and CEO Robert A. Cain, DO, said, “We are once again pleased to offer another opportunity for residency programs to share information about their unique attributes and residency selection criteria and for students to connect with program staff and residents in preparation for the upcoming residency cycle.”

vFairs CEO and Founder Muhammaf Younas stated, “The residency program recruitment process can be quite tedious and confusing. This event simplifies things significantly, and will help students and residency programs find each other.”

The AACOM/AOGME Virtual Residency Fair will take place on August 5, 2022, from 12-8 PM ET. Interested exhibitors can find out more and programs and students can register on the event website.
