Hosted by the AOGME Residents and Fellows Council (RFC), this webinar will provide a comprehensive review of the Federal Student Loan Repayment System. John LaSota, Default Prevention Counselor at Nova Southeastern University, will highlight how borrowers can benefit from the system, effective strategies for repaying their Federal Student Loans and practical personal finance tips for beginners.

This webinar will provide information on how to track your loans, types of student loans, the repayment plans available, loan forgiveness options, loan consolidation, loan postponement, loan default, current issues with the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan and what happens if the SAVE Plan is revoked.

Objectives:

  • Teach borrowers to understand the type of loans they’ve borrowed
  • Explain the repayment plans available
  • Teach borrowers how to keep accounts from defaulting
