A lunch and learn with Dr. Peter Weimersheimer, Professor Emeritus of EM at the UVM College of Medicine.

This one-hour interactive session will review why and how point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is a vital addition to a medical education curriculum and explore different approaches to curriculum integration, educational support and funding for equipment and training. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review the educational and clinical rationale for incorporating POCUS in a full longitudinal curriculum
  2. Discuss historical and current barriers and solutions to successfully integrating POCUS into medical education
  3. Explore new technologies that support global student POCUS training at multiple sites, achievement of milestones, and effective oversight/quality assurance
